Today was a typical vacances day. We had a great night's sleep and woke up to cool temperatures and light rain. Around 9:00 Christina and Claude knocked on our door and invited us to Carine's place for coffee. The place was hopping with people! Of course everyone knew one another so there was much greeting and kissing going on. We had a nice time there and tried to follow the many conversations. David and I concentrate so hard on trying to pick out the words we know that we feel like our heads will explode!
Following coffee we stopped at our favorite bakery which is finally open and picked up two baguettes. While there my phone rang and it was Douglas asking us to come over around 11:00 to discuss our plans for the next few days. So much we want to do and so little time.
We walked by the new shop next to the antique store I want to tell Rachael about and . . . IT WAS STILL CLOSED. Now the sign says it is closed until Saturday. So we walked to the other new store -- and it is still closed too. Until Saturday. I am not liking these school holidays! Hopefully I will be able to visit the shops before we leave and post some descriptions and pictures.
Asking us to come over to discuss our plans was just Claire's trick to get us to come over for lunch again. We feel badly about eating so many meals there because we don't want to wear out our welcome, but today Claire wanted us to eat the leftovers from Sunday lunch. She didn't have to ask us twice! As a real treat today she made bread pudding for dessert. That is one of David's favorites and it was delicious. We made many plans which I will tell you all about as the days go on.
After lunch -- which included wine, of course -- we decided it was a great day for a nap which was heavenly. After lazing away an hour we got up and went for a long walk. There is just so much to see here that we never tire of being out and around exploring the area.
We were so full from lunch today that for dinner we just had sandwiches made on fantastic baguettes and some chocolate cookies. It is 10:15 pm and we are watching a movie and will head to bed soon. We have some fun plans for tomorrow!
Sorry there aren't any pictures today!
Good night dear friends!!!
