Wow!  It's been a whirlwind for the last few days!  Last Monday I received a message from Rachael, the owner of La Bourlangerie where David and I lived for two months in 2014 "pretending to be French."  She graciously offered us an opportunity to visit La Boulangerie again to experience what it is like in the Winter.  I immediately started doing research and discovered we had enough air miles to fly to Paris this month.  Surprisingly David agreed to go on the spur of the moment and I jumped into action and quickly made the arrangements.

We will fly to Paris this coming Wednesday for two weeks of bliss.  Thank you, Rachael, for this incredible opportunity and we cannot wait to host you in North Carolina one of these days.  Or perhaps we'll meet up in Australia (where Rachael lives).  Anyway . . .  it's hard to believe this is happening but David and I are very excited to return to a place we love and visit the wonderful friends we made there.

We are very curious to visit France this time of year.  We know it is cold and rainy.  We can dress for that.  We know that some of the touristy places won't be open.  That's OK, we've seen most of the highlights of the Loire Valley.  It will be a true test to see if we really want to spend extended periods of time living in France.

I will keep a blog; again for my own information and recollection.  I will share it with a few friends whom I know enjoy following along on our travels.

Right now we are off the the gym to try to burn off some calories in anticipation of  indulging in the delicious baguettes, beurre and fromage that central France offers.  And perhaps a few pastries and maybe some chocolate!
